In our country, it is not possible to perform hearing screening of all babies with newborn hearing screening programs reaching up to 90%. The mean number of newborns with hearing loss was approximately 2%. This rate can be as high as 10% for babies staying in neonatal intensive care units. The purpose of hearing screening is to determine the babies born with hearing disabilities shortly after birth, to complete the hearing tests without 3 months of age, and to intervene in the absence of hearing impairment for 6 months. Babies who have been diagnosed with hearing impairment at the latest within 6 months of their birth and who have received hearing aid and hearing and speech training may develop a similar level of hearing skills as those with normal hearing.
